WAXING SUMMER

After April, its a riot of new green for the seven weeks before summer solstice, and pruning and weeding must take priority. What you shape and make space for in this season will grow strong.We can see that I have my hands full as a gardener because I've 0/7 pages complete for this season! After being raised by research scientists, and trained by top academic institutions, I landed and grew up in the semi-feral culture and environment of 1990s Providence, RI. I worked for many years as an art and general education teacher, and in 2015, with the experience of 40 years, I started to feel capable of building culture for the next generation. With COLORHODEISLAND I am attempting to activate the understanding that we are, at every moment, alive within a living environment, and to replace stories that frame the natural world as a separate, exotic, and dangerous location to be accessed primarily as a consumable resource.
